OUR HISTORY
Thank you for visiting us at Australian Power Transmission. We are one of Australia’s most experienced pulley manufacturers and general engineering companies.
A.S. Dewar’s and Sons laid the foundations for Australian Power Transmission in the suburb of Kedron in Brisbane in 1945 as general engineers and pulley manufacturers. Today, Australian Power Transmission has grown into a specialised machining manufacturer, and we are still proudly 100% Australian. The business is owned by Malcolm and Beverley Lyell and operated by their 4 sons. The family is supported by our team of fully qualified staff. With our extensive machining experience, we have been providing our clients with the highest quality products for two generations.
In the 1990s, with the demand for quality engineering products increasing, Australian Power Transmission moved to our current premises in Brendale. We are now located on a 2500 square metre site. Our workshops are equipped with state of the art computerised machining centres, lathes, large scale vertical borers and keyway cutting facilities. We also provide fabrication services for those clients that have specialised engineering projects.

Our services cater to clients in the mining, quarry, construction, oil and gas, rail, transport and other heavy industrial sectors. With history comes experience, and we have extensive knowledge that can support most requests. We can even fabricate one-off products for small businesses or large-scale products for global companies.
We have a large, diverse and loyal customer base. In fact, we are very proud that many of our customers have been dealing with us for over 40 years. Our goal is always to provide efficient services with an understanding that quality and safety cannot be compromised when manufacturing products used in heavy industrial applications.
